The thangka shows him  seated in a meditation posture, with a brilliant, lapis lazuli blue body. His right hand rests upon his knee in the mudra of supreme generosity, holding the stem of a myrobalan plant, while his left hand rests in his lap in the meditation mudra holding a begging bowl filled with medicinal nectar and herbs.

Surrounded by a golden aura and seated on a lotus throne, he is set against a serene landscape of trees and a flowing river. Offerings of fruit and other sacred items are arranged at his feet.
