Green Tara is a female Buddha, believed to be born from the Avalokiteshvara's tear when he observed the world's​ suffering. From the tear of his right eye emerged Green Tara. Her posture is portrayed with her right leg extended signifying that she is always ready to help protect beings from suffering and her left leg folded on a lotus pedestal, symbolizing the integration of wisdom and compassion. She holds a blue lotus in her left hand symbolizing purity.
