Green Tara Thangka

This thangka shows three powerhouse female Buddhas.  Green Tara is the central figure, in her classic pose of swift readiness. With one leg extended, she's ready to instantly help all beings. Her calm, alert face and green color truly show her enlightened action, deep wisdom, and quick compassion. She is fearless compassion itself, always helping to clear away obstacles and offer strong protection on our path.

White Tara is on the left while Sarasvati, the Buddha of song and poetry can be seen on the right.

Green Tara's mantra is: OM TARE TUTARE TURE SO HA
